Gender Diverse Collective

The Gender Diverse Collective is a group that offers space for trans, Two Spirit, gender non-conforming, or questioning folks on campus to get together, share ideas and experiences, learn about resources, have some snacks and engage in informal discussions on issues concerning trans safety and support on campus. *Please note, this group is for self-identified trans, Two Spirit, genderqueer, gender non-conforming people and questioning only. Beautiful We: a Discussion Group for Black Women (Cis and Trans)

In collaboration with YUBSA and CWTP @ York, ‘Beautiful We’ offers a safer space for women of the Afrikan Continent and Diaspora to discuss and celebrate Black cultures through art-making, conversation, film viewing and more.  From writing workshops to informal hangouts to sharing spiritual space, Beautiful We finds the liberating place where Blackness and feminism meet. You’re Beautiful, it’s true.  Every Thursday evenings 7-9pm, rm 322 The Student Centre


Rad Access Group

This group is a space to discuss accessibility issues on campus. There will be group discussions, activities, workshops, sharing of resources and referrals. As well as strategizing ways to create more accessible spaces. Theme: Mental Health. Meets monthly Thursdays, next meet February, 25th, 12pm -2pm, rm 322.


ESL Conversation Group

Come join us for English as a Second Language conversational activities and discussions!
This group is open to students and non-students who are interested in improving their English language conversation skills. The group meets Tuesdays on a bi-weekly basis next session: Tues, Feb 23, 2016. Time: 2pm – 4pm, room 322 Student Centre


Meditative Healing Arts

Drop-in to this group to engage in some meditative arts practices as a way to de-stress from the busy-ness of school, work and life. Join in group discussions, meet some new people, and create some new artworks!

CWTP and Mediitative Healing Arts is celebrating Black History Month by going to the Audre Lorde Festival, hosted by D’BI YOUNG!!!!

Queer Muslim Group

This group strives to be is a safer and welcoming space for Queer Muslims within the LGBTQI spectrum and allies. The group will focus on issues surrounding being queer and Muslim and navigating through life.

Queer Trans People of Colour Organize [QTPOCO]

A safer space where QTBIPOC members can build strategies for empowerment through arts based programming and workshops. Facilitated by various student groups CWTP, TBLGAY, YUBSA and LGBT+ Schulich. Next event, a tour at the Art Gallery of York University (agYU) of Syrus Marcus Ware’s work followed by a Reciprocal Dialogue with Greg Staats. Wed, Feb 24, 2016. 5:30pm – 8:00pm. DIY Parlour & Crafts

Come by the Centre for this once a month craft session! We will have nail painting supplies, button-making, knitting and other crafts to create with. While we will be making some new art creations, and discuss our thoughts about aspects of our school, work, daily life. DIY Parlour & Crafts happen monthly at the Centre. Next session Thurs, Feb 25th, 12pm – 2pm, rm 322 Student Centre. Theme for this session: Black Liberation Month.
